On January 5, 2009, Chris Blakeslee, Fabrication Manager, stated “this is an exciting time for our division; we have been able to add manpower with over 25 years of plastic fabrication know-how to our already expert workforce. This addition will enable us to provide products such as plastic tanks, exhaust systems and material handling fixtures in a variety of plastic applications. American Tinning & Galvanizing Company has recently enacted a, “Buy American First Policy”, Robin Scheppner, Vice – President and Managing Owner of the family owned business located in Erie, Pennsylvania announced on Monday, February 2, 2009. “In an effort to help our local and regional vendors weather the current financial storm we have established the rule that American Tinning & Galvanizing Company will purchase services only from firms operating in the USA” stated Ms. Scheppner. “Historically ATG has always bought American first, but at this downturn we wanted to make it a matter of policy and, hopefully, encourage other local businesses to follow suit”.
